Circumnavigation of Fur

I participated in a tour around Fur, a small island in Limfjorden. The tour was arranged by Marion Boisen.

Been there before. A really nice scenic little island - so off course I wanted to go again. On our way we passed - and visited for lunch - Fur Bryghus, an absolutely brilliant restaurant, created around a micro-brewery, of the same name.

What Fur is really known for is its moler and cliffs.

Rødstenen.

We spent the night at the shelters just east of Rødstenen. 300 m to portage. Equal distance to toilets.

 The landscape in it self, is also very scenic.

So much for 'Cold-hawaii'.! Far from cold and far from Hawaii. Amazing one can have weather, and conditions, like this 1st. of October.

This is actually third time I have been so unfortunate, to be here, when there is no surf (or very little) at all. This is what happens when the date has been set long ago.

Tomorrow there will be slightly more wind, but still the period is way to short.

NordLow, first trip.

We combined a tour and a nightpaddle. We spent the night on Bågø. No wonder i shivered in the morning - there were ice in a drinking bottle.

2010-12-19 - Kidholme

Jepsen, Katrina and I. Fænø Sund <--> Skærbæk. Beautiful calm, but cold, winterday. The lunch break took place in my groupshelter, made a world of a difference.! Water froze in drinkink bottles... A few rolls.

It was a cold day.!

One of the few times where the water froze in the bottle....

That the lunch-brake could take place in a group-shelter, made the world of a difference in comfort versus freezing your ass off..!!
